ComXchange is connecting the 242-room Hotel Harrington in Washington, DC. The same family has owned and operated the hotel since 1914. Located within walking distance to the White House and the National Mall, the hotel was a leader right from the start, designing guest rooms to include a private bath and incorporating dedicated space for traveling salesmen to display products to local businesses. Today, there are two on-site full-service restaurants and a connected bar, an underground parking garage, gift shop and a laundromat. The first hotel in DC to install air conditioning in 1938, and with 12 stories, the Harrington was the ideal location for the city’s first TV station and transmission tower. W3XWT (now known as Fox Channel 5) set up shop on the upper floors and in 1946 began broadcasting.

The Chicago Athletic Association Hotel traces its roots to the establishment of the Chicago Athletic Association in 1890. 125 years after it first opened in 1893, the Venetian Gothic 250-foot tower has recently been transformed into a luxury hotel at a cost of over $100 million. In addition to 241 guest rooms and suites, the hotel features a Game Room, a rooftop restaurant, a full bar and a high-end micro bar, a “shake shack”, and a boutique cafe. The historic building also offers 17,000 square feet of event space, including the vintage White City Ballroom used for wedding receptions and entertainment. With all the painstaking repairs and upgrades that have brought the building back to its original grandeur, this Chicago landmark couldn’t look to the past for a communication system… The hotel selected ComXchange to shape its future.
